Don't Panic...

You may have seen the news coming out of Thailand in recent days - military coup d'etat and all - and wondered how this is affecting our trip.  At this point, our trip is unaffected; we are still headed to Asia in 50 days with our itinerary mostly unchanged.  After talking to Mama D, we believe that our safety will not be a major concern (at least no more than it would have been before the coup).  The airports, train stations and tourist sites are still open and operating normally, so we're still on!

Check back in mid-July for the start of our trip!

Welcome!

Welcome to our new blog!  We're the Ds - Liz and Tang.  And we love to cook, travel, talk about science, try new whiskey and wine, and play video games.  We are currently in graduate school for chemistry (Liz) and virology (Tang).

This blog is not (at the moment) going to be super regular.  We'll be using this to communicate with our family and friends state-side when we go on our big Asian adventure in a few months.  It might evolve into something more some day....

Speaking of our Asian adventure.... we'll be heading to Kobe, Japan in July.  Tang has a conference there for a few days, and Liz will play tourist while he is busy.  After Kobe, we'll be headed to Bangkok, Thailand to visit Mama and Papa D for two weeks.  We've got lots of sightseeing and good eating in store for us!  Below is a map of our route - Orlando to Kobe to Bangkok and back!
