Ancient Siam

For our first full day in Bangkok, Papa D took Tang and I to an attraction called Ancient Siam.

This is a privately owned park that was built by a very wealthy Thai man - he made lots of money through Mercedes-Benz and decided to give back to his country by building this park.  It showcases many of the cultural attractions throughout Thailand, most of them palaces, temples and housing structures.  For the most part, the structures are replicas or miniatures, but a few of them were transported from their original locations to the park.  It was a nice way to "tour" Thailand in one day and see some architectural differences between central and north Thailand.

The park today was overrun with school children of all ages.  Many of the primary and elementary aged children found me as interesting as the structures around them.  Several of them would wave at me and say "Hello!"  One group of little girls even wanted their picture taken with me.  Tang says all this happened because I'm pretty.  Who knows? :)
