Hi all!
Our last two days in Kobe were fairly quiet. We went to a botanical and herb garden on Tuesday, July 22, as well as to a fabulous Kobe beef dinner. I will post pictures of an incredibly tasty meal later. And yesterday, July 23, we toured two sake breweries.
Today, we flew out of Osaka Kansai to Tokyo Haneda and then on to Bangkok. Papa D met us at the airport and brought us to our hotel.
Bangkok traffic is CRAZY! So many vehicles on the road - Papa D said that the government offered a tax-free incentive last year on new cars, and over 80,000 new cars were bought. It really shows in the traffic. In addition to just the usual traffic jams due to a city and lots of cars, there are scooters that weave in and out of traffic and make their own lanes and rules. Some of these scooters have noodle stands attached to them, and they are driving down the road like a regular car.
Anyway, I can tell Bangkok is going to be a grand adventure. I am super excited to see where my husband is from and spend more time with my in-laws. Tomorrow, Papa D is taking us to something called The Ancient City. We'll see what that is....
